A Walk Through Princeton

So, today is the day.

The day that I consider it to be truly spring in Princeton. It's the most beautiful day of the year. The day that forces me to take a step back and just say "Wow" and to truly appreciate what a great place I've been blessed with attending. The way the sun casts it's light on the campus on this day is so stunningly brilliant that it accentuates all of the beauty that lies in this place. As I walked from Quad to my room, there were so man moments at which I was absolutely stunned.

As I left Quad through it's backyard, I see a number of Quad members sitting at the picnic tables in the backyard. Two of them are studying, of course, this is Princeton, that's what we do here. At the other table a few of my friends are relaxing, taking in their socializing for the day and probably reflecting the activities of the previous evening. On the basketball court 4 of my friends are playing four square. A childish game perhaps, but such things are necessary to take away from the very adult pressures that are put upon us here. Whatever people may think about playing this game, they're having fun, and that in itself is a thing of beauty here.

I leave Quad and proceed further back to my room. The sun shines just right upon the trees, the grass, and yes even the construction. I pass the Center for Jewish Life, where again people are having a good time in the outdoor weather. As I pass Frist music can be heard coming from the speakers in the backyard. This brings back all the great memories of things this university has done as far as outdoor entertainment. Even though it hasn't happened in months, hearing music playing outside at Princeton feels natural and right.

It's about this time that I reflect. I realize that this is my last year here. I graduate in the May and these are the things I'm going to miss. This feeling that I get being here. We tend to forget sometimes how magical and wonderful things can be here. We get caught up in the papers, the exams, the readings, the all-nighters, and the crappy winter weather. But, I pause now to reflect on all the great things here. The aesthetics at the moment bring back my feelings of wonder at this place. It makes me think of the caliber of people I've met here. I never would have learned as much as I've learne here anywhere else, both academically and socially. There are a people here, who are absolute geniuses. They're knowledge is just staggering and being able to absorb knowledge from them has been a glorious privledge.

There are so many more things that I'm thankful for that Princeton has given me, but this post is growing exceedingly long and I must get back to work on my thesis. Oh, the cherry blossoms are in bloom, they are aboslutely glorious in their beauty. There's no place like Princeton.

It's a beautiful day, don't let it get away
